"Love Upon The Cross"

Upon the cross at Calvary,
His redemptive blood made a way for me.
His Father's will, He saw it through;
He suffered there, for me and you.

Between two sinners, raised up high,
With nail-pierced hands, was left to die.
"Forgive them, Father" is what He said,
As He suffered on and bled.

He shed His blood for you and me,
Upon that cross at Calvary.
His suffering there gave us a way
To everlasting life one day.

No greater love has been portrayed,
No greater sacrifice has been made
To cleanse our sins and set us free,
Upon that cross at Calvary.
"Herein is love, not that we loved God,
but that he loved us,
and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins."

1John 4:10

"Thank You, For The Rain"

I bow my head and thank You, Lord
for such a day as this;
With raindrops falling from the sky,
I know You're in their mist.

I see Your love in every drop
Which touches each new flower;
As blades of grass reach up to drink
in all You're wondrous power.

Through skies of grey, the sun still shines,
For all of those who see,
The beauty that Your raindrops bring
In every living tree.

As gardens grow and produce buds,
May thanks be given You,
For all the wondrous ways of love
You show in all You do.

"And he shall be as the light of the morning,
when the sun riseth,
even a morning without clouds;
as the tender grass springeth out of the earth
by clear shining after rain."

"Thy Word, Dear Lord"

Thy Word I've hid within my heart,
Since I accepted You.
Now I can share with others,
All the things You want me to.

I tell them about Jesus,
And why He came to stay,
On earth here for awhile,
To cleanse our sins away.

I tell them how He suffered
On Calvary's Cross for me;
And all the people in the world
To achieve eternity.

I talk about His coming back
To take us up one day,
Into the clouds to be with Him
If they accept "The Way".

I tell them of the banquet
You're preparing there to share,
While gathered 'round the table
After we're caught up in the air!

I talk about the splendid things
The Bible says are true;
For in my heart, the Words I've hid
I want to share of You!

"Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."
Psalm 119:105

Jesus saith . . .
"I am the way, the truth, and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
John 14:6

"It Would Be Wonderful"

As the fish that share the waters

And the mammals share the land,

While the birds who fly above us

Share the space they have at hand;

Do you ever stop and wonder

As you trod this earth each day,

How God's creatures come together

And unite along life's way?

I think it would be wonderful

If we'd sit back and ponder

As we watch and we reflect upon

All of God's awesome wonder!

Then we could live in unison

The way God's creatures do,

Just think of all the peace there'd be ~

Let's begin with me and you!

"This Is Jesus Checking In"

This is Jesus, passing through,

Thought that I might check on you.

Is your day going well, my friend?

I always have an ear to lend.

If you decide you need to talk,

Or side with me on a short walk,

I'll gladly take your hand in Mine

And listen to you for a time.

You see, I'm not so busy that

I can't take time with you to chat;

Or even lend a listening ear,

Because, you see, I'm always near.

I'll help to dry a tear or two,

I'll take away all fear from you;

I'll keep you warm when you are cold,

I'll comfort you when you grow old.

I'll cast the shadows from your day,

And give you sun to guide your way;

I'll lift you up when you are down,

A smile I'll give, so you don't frown.

And when the day turns into night,

You needn't fear, it'll be alright;

For I am just a prayer away,

Just call on Me ~ I'll come and stay.

"Thankful For Another Year"

I'm thankful for another year
The Lord has given me;
Another day, another hour
To serve Him faithfully.

May all I do this coming year
Be pleasing to His sight;
Forgiving others 'long the way
Regardless of their plight.

And when I'm seen in public,
In the workplace or my home,
May I reflect my Jesus' love
Which through me may be shown.

I'll take each day as it may come
For it's His splendid way,
Of giving me a special gift
Of life here one more day.

I'll not worry for tomorrow
As the Bible tells us so,
But do the best to show His love
In everywhere I go.

And I pray I set examples
I know Jesus would do;
Throughout this year and always
May my love through Him shine through.

Then when my New Year's finished
And I've gone to see His face,
I hope that my short walk on earth
Will hold a special place,

In hearts of those I love so dear
And those I never knew;
I hope my love and actions
Reflecting Jesus' love shone through.
